Although we recommend MODULUS as a complete "system" there are still some Pilots who are looking for single size parafoils. We therefore offer the BB range. These kites feature the following:
Originally designed as a lazy mans high wind addition to the MODULUS system, it’s stunting ability and amazingly high loft (lift in light winds) has made this BB popular with the kite flying fraternity as well. As a stunter it is agile and highly responsive, and it’s performance in light wind is truly exceptional.
As a quick deployment storm rig it is second to none. You can handle insane winds with complete confidence in the canopy which remains well behaved and controllable even in squall conditions.
The 2 BB is a good introduction to 4 line flying and high wind traction fun. Very powerful for it’s size with tremendous loft (flies well in very light winds).
The 2 BB has proved to be a durable, popular and economical all rounder. Great to stunt in low winds, a superb trainer for lightweight pilots and a wicked wind weapon when the going gets "interesting"!
In strong winds the combination of exceptional tracking, tight turning and good ground handling make this a storm rig with both performance and practicality. This is a canopy and handle only package. Line sets are available separately.
Easy to fly and cheap to buy the "33" is a ideal introduction to the world of power kites. Typically the 3 metre size has been viewed as the "best" sail area for a first taste of traction. This is because it develops good power in the mid wind range. With re inforcement on every rib this canopy can take a hell of a hammering, which is handy seeing the antics beginners get up to!!
This design features a cross over bridle which makes its performance and maneuverability outstanding. User friendly with no vices this "BB" will give confidence to beginners and yet will more than satisfy performance demands as the flyers skill level increases. This is a canopy and handle only package. Line sets are available separately.

Ultra-light, ultra-fast. The "43" is definitely in the "weapon" class. Not for beginners or the faint hearted it’s speed and maneuverability sets this foil in a class apart. With it’s ultra-light, waterproof polyester canopy and user friendly low pressure design this "BB" will perform even in the wettest of conditions. Unique in the SPIDER range for it’s radical cut away trailing edge the "43" handles faultlessly, has a fast spin rate, light brakes and will reverse without trailing edge inversion even in squall conditions.
Ultra-light, ultra-fragile! This indeed, is often just the case. But with the "43" every precaution has been taken to prolong canopy life. Each cell has line reinforcement linked to the trailing edge. This gives a massively powerful canopy sub structure, coupled with shock absorbing polyester bridling the "43" will take a "few" knocks . But be warned polyester bursts, so.. No slam dunking!!

The 5.3 BB has been designed to give traction in the lightest of winds. Do not be put off by it’s small size, this beast generates huge pull and yet is a dream to fly. Incredibly responsive with no vices the 5.3 puts paid to the theory that "big is beautiful".
If it flies you have traction.
Introduced in February 95 it astounded critics of four line kites by giving practical traction whilst all the others were still on the ground!! Since then it has outperformed every other ultra-light on the market. Be warned this foil has "voodoo"!!
Being a low pressure design it’s handling in the very lightest of airs is second to none. To be able to recover when the wind drops to zero is not just convenient it’s essential.
Coupled with it’s polyester construction it shrugs off water and sand and will carry on flying when all the others have been downed by the rain. Even crashing on soaked beaches will not stop your days action, it’s ability to re launch in desperate conditions is astounding. If you can get one cell inflated you will be able to re launch. A quick shake to shrug off the "crud" and you’re away.
The canopy, bridle and links weigh in at a mere 750 grams giving the 5.3 astounding loft, coupled with it’s ease of control it enables the pilot to sweep the sky and generate huge pull when even ultra light delta kites are grounded!!
In the past, ultra-lights have been dogged by ultra fragility. Making them toys for the rich boys. But not so with the 5.3 BB. Our construction techniques at SPIDER have proved second to none. This foil is built to last. Roger Mear proved that with his Antarctic crossing attempt in 1995. He pulled himself AND a sledge weighing a massive 200kg (450 lb). His comment to us was that if it flew he had traction. On his return we inspected his kite to find no damage at all. That’s load testing!
What’s the use of having your ultra-light in the car when you’re stranded miles away at the other end of the beach? The 5.3 BB comes in a Pod that stays on your buggy all the time. It is designed to fit into the modulus system. If the wind drops you can set out the 5.3 BB, pack your MODULUS into the 5.3 Pod and get away in minutes.
